Strengthen your volunteer management skills at workshops

The Volunteer Center McHenry County, 620 Dakota St. in Crystal Lake, will offer three workshops this spring.

• Learn how to prepare your organization for a disaster, create a disaster plan, and discover tools to keep your organization safe in "Disaster Preparedness for Your Organization" from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17. Class includes a manual for disaster preparedness. Cost is $20 to $24 per organization group.

• Determine what is necessary to retain volunteers and maximize their contribution in "Volunteer Motivation" from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18. Cost is $12 to $15 per individual.

• The First Fridays Focus on Finding Funding will be 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, June 3. This monthly learning opportunity is designed to help individual utilize grant-seeker tools. This class is limited to four. There is no charge to attend.
