1 in custody after shooting near Des Plaines

One person is in custody after a 20-year-old man was shot multiple times Saturday morning in an unincorporated area near Des Plaines, officials said.

However, that person had not been charged as of Saturday night, said Sophia Ansari, spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

“We are not looking for anyone else at this time,” she wrote in an email.

The shooting happened at 11:30 a.m. Saturday on the 400 block of Touhy Avenue, which is the Blackhawk Estates mobile home park, Ansari said.

The man remained in critical condition at a nearby hospital Saturday night.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate.
