$1 million lottery ticket sold in Mundelein

Someone who bought a lottery ticket in Mundelein is a new millionaire.

A Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million was sold at the Circle K at 1991 W. Maple Ave. before Tuesday night's drawing.

Lee Salazar, an assistant manager at the store, said Wednesday evening that people have been pouring into the store all day checking their tickets and asking the staff if it's true that the $1 million ticket was sold there.

"It's crazy," said Salazar, who is from Mundelein, but now lives in Round Lake. "I really can't believe it."

Salazar said he hopes the winner is one of the store's regular lottery customers.

"A lot of people say that if they win, they'll come back and give us some," Salazar said.

According to the Illinois Lottery, the $1 million ticket matched the first five numbers drawn Tuesday night - 12, 22, 46, 56 and 74 - but didn't match the final number, which was 4.
