Baseball: Lake Park, Naperville North, Addison Trail win

Lake Park 10, Glenbard North 2:

Colin Fowich and Michael Nielsen homered to lead the Lancers (17-7, 12-6) to within a game of first place in the DuPage Valley Conference. Winning pitcher Connor Cook, Jim McDonald, Nielsen and Colin Jamison all had 2 hits while Fowich went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI. Zach Heck had 2 hits and Neal Shah homered for Glenbard North (7-20, 4-14).

Naperville North 12, Naperville Central 1:

The Huskies swept in the DuPage Valley by winning the third game of the series in five innings. Brennan Simek, Paul Dobravec, Christian Barczi, Jack Whitley and Jack Ginzkey combined for 11 of Naperville North's 14 hits. Kyle Cobb was the winning pitcher. Austin Sherman homered for Naperville Central (19-7, 13-5).

Addison Trail 5, Leyden 4:

The Blazers (11-12, 6-9) scored 4 runs in the first inning to take two of three games in the West Suburban Gold series. Ricky Perez went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and Angelo Feola doubled twice. Nick Villasenor was the complete-game winning pitcher.

Wheaton North 4, Neuqua Valley 0:

Zach Colangelo pitched a 2-hitter with 7 strikeouts for the Falcons (14-11, 10-8) in their DuPage Valley Conference victory. He and Ryan Kocher had 2 hits apiece.

Glenbard South 8, Fenton 2:

Winning pitcher Fabian Garcia allowed only 2 hits as the Raiders (13-12, 11-6) won the Metro Suburban West game shortened to five innings. Dan Opem and Kyle Zygadto each had 2 hits and 2 RBI while Tim Marks went 3-for-3.

Wheaton Academy 6, IC Catholic 3:

A 5-run bottom of the first inning powered the Warriors (12-11, 8-5) to victory in the Metro Suburban. R.W. Rienow, Noah Ritchie, Anthony Vavrinchik and David Thrasher all had 2 hits. Kellen Mitchell was the complete-game winning pitcher.

Metea Valley 7, WW South 4:

Jack Feeley went 2-for-3 with a homer and 2 RBI for the Mustangs (15-13, 10-11), who swept in the DuPage Valley. Ashton Creal added 2 RBI and Jack Dziewiatkowski had 2 hits. Trey Long won on the mound with 4 innings of relief. Griffen Pschigoda and Matt Sampalis homered for WW South (5-19, 3-18).
