Blanding's turtle focus of Libertyville event

The Lake County Forest Preserve District's innovative program to recover the elusive Blanding's turtle is the topic of the Green Drinks Libertyville program at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at O'Toole's Libertyville, 412 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Gary Glowacki, wildlife biologist for the district, will discuss what is being done to protect one of the largest and most significant populations of the species in the state. Blanding's turtles are in decline due to habitat loss and other environmental factors.
