Softball: Lake Zurich takes two from Rolling Meadows

Lake Zurich's softball team won both games of a doubleheader with Rolling Meadows, 10-4 and 6-2, in nonconference play Saturday.

In the first game, Melissa Goldberg, Amanda Guercio and Jessica Puccinelli each had 3 hits.

Winning pitcher Stephanie Keefe went the distance and rolled up 11 strikeouts while allowing just 2 walks.

In the second game, Puccinelli and Sarah Schnecker each had 3 hits while winning pitcher Juliana Hood allowed just 1 walk.

Antioch 11, Buffalo Grove 2: Jill Foote went 2-for-4 with a home run to lead Antioch. She also drove in 4 runs.

Jacklyn Geraty and Carlie Gaylord added 3 hits each for the Sequoits, who got 2 hits apiece out of Ashley Stephens and Deighton Butenschoen.

Antioch finished with 14 hits on the game.

Stephanie Bonaguidi was the winning pitcher.
