HomeWerks opens new showroom in Naperville

For the past 20 years, HomeWerks has been renovating and improving Chicago-area homes. The Orland Park-based firm has become well-known for kitchen, bath and basement renovations throughout the suburbs and now it is about to open its second showroom in order to better serve its clients.

The showroom, at 1154 E. Ogden Avenue, Naperville, will open in June, according to Steve Piwowar, sales manager.

“This new 15,000-square-foot showroom will allow our customers in the Western and Northwestern suburbs to make their product selections even closer to their homes,” he said.

“We are unique because we can do something for every budget, so we renovate everything from small powder rooms to large master bath suites, entire kitchens and basements. But we do not do home additions,” Piwowar said. The company only works within the existing envelope of each home.

HomeWerks carries out the entire job from start to finish, delivering “turnkey” projects. It handle design through completion, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, flooring, painting and decorating, as well as anything else required, he said.

“We are a full remodeling, design-and-build firm for one-stop shopping,” Piwowar said. “We provide realistic 3-D computer renderings of what we plan to do before any work begins. That takes out the guesswork for our clients. And when we are done, we present our clients with a single five-year warranty that covers all of the work that has been done. Many companies give you different warranties for the plumbing, electrical, etc., and that is cumbersome. We give one warranty with one name and one phone number.”

In addition, all tile, flooring, cabinet, paint and other selections may be made under one roof at either the HomeWerks existing showroom in Orland Park or at the new showroom in Naperville. However, if clients choose to purchase certain materials elsewhere — for their tile, as an example — they can be given a product allowance, Piwowar said.

“But they need to remember we negotiate great prices with our regular suppliers, much better rates that homeowners will be able to get from anyone for a one-time sale,” he said.

The majority of HomeWerks' business comes from repeat customers and referrals. HomeWerks is part of the WindowWorks family of companies, Piwowar said, and once homeowners have worked with it to get new windows, siding or roofing, they tend to feel comfortable relying on a related company for their next home improvement project.

In addition, HomeWerks was recognized with a Super Service Achiever Award from Angie's List in 2013, Piwowar said, and it has an A rating with the Better Business Bureau.

All of its installation crews are bonded, licensed and insured, too, so clients don't have to worry about crews being in their home while they are at work, Piwowar said.

“Our process puts our clients' needs above all else and emphasizes quality work, customer satisfaction and integrity. In addition, although the average wait time for a project to start is six to eight weeks, we are willing to make exceptions for emergencies,” he said.
