'Good Wife' cancels Naperville appearance

The star of TV's "The Good Wife," Julianna Margulies, has canceled a scheduled appearance later this month in Naperville citing an unspecified illness.

Margulies, whose show will end Sunday, was scheduled to appear May 15 at Anderson's Bookshop in downtown Naperville to promote her new children's book, "Three Magic Balloons."

The book features a story Margulies says her father wrote for her and her sisters when they were children. It centers on a Saturday trip to a children's zoo by three sisters and their father and a mysterious balloon man whose wares contain magic.

Margulies won an Emmy Award for her work on the NBC medical drama "ER" before starring as Alicia Florrick on "The Good Wife" beginning in 2009.
