Boy Scouts honor Scoutmaster's mother

When they heard that their Scoutmaster's mother had passed away these Scouts knew they had to step up.

Carol Nelson, who died in March at age 81, had been a volunteer with Lazarus House in St. Charles, helping to serve the needs of the homeless in the area for many years.

The Chiefs Patrol of Boy Scout Troop 13 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Charles decided to honor her memory by organizing a supply drive for Lazarus House.

Without telling anyone else, they sent out fliers and collected goods from their neighbors and families.

They ended up filling three truckloads of supplies to drop off at the Lazarus House.
