Fundraiser for Arlington Heights child Thursday in Buffalo Grove

A fundraiser for an Arlington Heights child born with a rare disease is being held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Culver's of Buffalo Grove, 450 McHenry Road. Trista and Justin Miller's child Charlotte, born last November, exhibited signs of Sandifers syndrome, according to her mother. She wears an apnea monitor and is regularly seeing an endocrinologist to further explore her health problems.

Culver's was contacted by Jeanne Califf of the Buffalo Grove Gymnastics Center, where Trista Miller works, and restaurant owner Kevin Weasler, a father of three young girls, agreed to donate 20 percent of the evening's sales to the family's medical costs, according to a news release.

"It's such a hard thing that Trista and her family are going through, and we're hoping for the best," Califf said.
