Hilltop Supper May 10 to feature meal from On the Border

First Congregational Church of Dundee is hosting Hilltop Community Suppers, an outreach effort that offers a free monthly meal served restaurant-style on the second Tuesday of each month.

The suppers are open to any community member in need of a warm, home-cooked meal or a social experience - veterans, active duty military families, food pantry patrons, homeless individuals, single parents and seniors.

The next free supper will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, in the church narthex. The May menu will feature a Mexican meal provided by On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina.

The suppers are run entirely by volunteers; more than 70 members of the church have signed up to cook, clean and serve and students in Dundee Middle School's Beta Club, Carpentersville Middle School's Service Learning Club, First Congregational Church's Middle School Youth Group and Elgin Boy Scout Troop 2 have volunteered to wait tables.

Freewill donations will also be accepted at each supper to help sustain the meals and any additional contributions are accepted at any time. Come join this gathering of community members and witness the fellowship of a meal where everyone is valued and no one ever has to eat alone.

"The Church on the Hill" is located at 900 S. Eighth St. (Route 31 and Angle Tarn), West Dundee. For details, call (847) 426-2161 ext. 202 or visit www.fccdundee.com.
