Softball: Devor 1-hitter leads St. Charles East past Streamwood

Delaney Devor pitched a 1-hitter and hit a home run while driving in 4 runs Tuesday to lead the St. Charles East softball team to a 10-0 Upstate Eight River win over Streamwood.

Katie Kolb (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Kelly Rinker (2 hits, 2 RBI) and Rylee Stout (RBI) also contributed to the offense for the Saints (18-3-1, 7-2). Devor struck out 4 and walked 2, allowing only a single to Arianna Wolfard for the Sabres (7-12, 3-6).

St. Charles North 12, Elgin 0: Maddie Webb allowed just 3 hits with 7 strikeouts and no walks as the North Stars (11-2, 6-0) won this UEC River game. Natalie Walters (2 hits, HR, 2 RBI), Allison Moberg (2B, RBI), Alyssa Eby (2 hits, 3B, 2 RBI), Samantha Hausl (2 hits, 2B, HR, 2 RBI) and Jillian Waslawski (2B) led the SCN offense. Abby Sensor took the loss for the Maroons (3-16, 2-8).

Bartlett 16, Glenbard East 3: Taylor Rotondo was 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI to lead the Hawks (13-6, 6-2) to a UEC Valley win. Elyse Hickey and Alyssa Nowak each added doubles for Bartlett. Amber Pagan picked up the win, allowing 6 hits with 9 strikeouts and 2 walks.

Kaneland 14, Sycamore 10: Mary Clausen had 3 hits, Meg Cohrs 2 hits and 2 RBI and Courtney Davis 2 hits and 2 RBI as Kaneland (13-8, 4-1) won this Northern Illinois Big XII slugfest. Morgan Weber homered for the Knights, Hannah Theobald had a double and 3 RBI and Rachel Goress a triple and an RBI. Davis picked up the win in relief.

Burlington Central 9, Johnsburg 2: In the Big Northern East, Kelly Wiater (3 hits) and Kristina Ahlers (3 hits, RBI) each had doubles for the Rockets (14-3, 7-1). Emily Kisch added 2 hits for BC while Gretchen Schrubbe had 2 hits and 2 RBI And Ashley Ratliff added 2 hits and an RBI. Kisch picked up the win in the circle, allowing just 3 hits with 11 strikeouts and 3 walks.

Westminster Christian 11, Luther North 7: Taryn Boltz hit 2 home runs and had 4 RBI to lead the Warriors (4-8, 3-3) to a Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Sarah Schmitt (4 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Drew Randazzo (2 hits, 2 RBI), Rachel Schmitt (2 hits, 2B) and Dana Rio (2 hits, 3B, RBI) also contributed. Kristen Mason was the winning pitcher.

Prairie Ridge 3, Cary-Grove 1: Emma Hill had 2 hits with a double and an RBI for the Trojans (5-11) in this Fox Valley Conference crossover loss. Rachel Stanley was the losing pitcher.

CL South 12, Woodstock 0: Taylor Kassel (3 hits, HR, 3 RBI), Brittany Baker (3 hits, 2 2Bs, RBI), Maddie Bush (2 hits, 2B, RBI), Samantha Burgard (2 hits, 6 RBI) and Christina Toniolo (2 hits) led the Gators (7-8) to an FVC crossover win. Toniolo allowed just 2 hits with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk to pick up the win.

Grayslake North 3, Dundee-Crown 1: The Chargers (11-11) had just 5 singles in this FVC crossover loss. Sydney Ruggles struck out 9 and walked none in suffering the loss.

Jacobs 19, Woodstock North 2: Jess Mrzlak had 3 hits and 4 RBI for the Golden Eagles (3-8) in their FVC crossover win. Also contributing to the 18-hit attack for Jacobs were Kerri Healy (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Grace O'Malley (2 RBI), Emily Borg (2 hits, 2B, RBI), Teaghan Richman (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Alexis Addante (2 hits, 2B, 4 RBI), Katie Borchert (2 hits, 2 RBI) and Abhy Piemonte (2 hits, RBI). Brittany Feldmann was the winning pitcher, allowing 6 hits with 5 strikeouts and 4 walks.

Huntley 9, Grayslake Central 3: Jessica Shields (3 hits, 2B, RBI), Autumn Kasal (3 hits, 2 2Bs, HR, 3 RBI) and Hayley O'Mara (2 2Bs, 2 RBI) led Huntley (11-5) to this FVC crossover victory. Tiffany Giese (11-4) picked up the win, allowing 7 hits with 7 strikeouts and no walks.

Glenbard South 10, St. Edward 3: In the Metro Suburban West, Lindsay Zdroik hit her 7th home run of the season for St. Edward (12-6, 5-3). Zdroik, who now has 37 RBI, was also the losing pitcher despite allowing just 4 earned runs as the Green Wave committed 5 errors. Zdroik struck out 5 and walked none.

Rosary 11, Queen of Peace 3: The Royals (5-9, 4-3) picked up this Chicago Catholic League win as Aubrey Fisher had 3 hits with a triple and an RBI and Emma Molenhouse added 3 hits with a double and 3 RBI. Xandria Olsen also had 2 hits for Rosary and Sarah Willman was the winning pitcher, allowing 7 hits and just 1 earned run.
