Human Race benefits DuPage Homeownership Center

My family has been participating in the DuPage Human Race for years now, including our two children ages 9 and 13. It's truly a "feel good" day when participants see the huge amount of support given to charities in DuPage County. From a parenting perspective, it's so important to show your children that giving back to the community is needed to help make the community and the services provided better for everyone who resides there. With all the charities available in our area, it makes me proud to reside where we do.

My support during the race is for DuPage Homeownership Center, an organization that provides financial literacy and housing education and counseling to achieve responsible and sustainable living. I've been involved as a volunteer for nearly 18 years with the center and now serve on the board of directors. Everyone deserves a place to call home, and financial literacy goes hand in hand with owning a home. The tools the center provides to the community are invaluable.
