Girls soccer: Geneva, St. Charles East post Naperville Invite wins

Geneva 3, Sandburg 1: Kyleigh Dominguez, Molly McGavin and Maddy Rapach-Lagowski each had goals as the Vikings (10-1-1) not only won their fifth-straight but Group B in the Naperville Invite played at Naperville Central. Jenna Dominguez and Kailyn Cannon offered assists while keeper Emma Harkleroad tallied 6 saves against a Sandburg team that suffered its first defeat of the year.

St. Charles East 5, Palatine 0: The Saints (11-2) scored 4 second half goals en route to taking home Group E in the Naperville Invite played at Barrington. Kaitlyn Dziubinski led the way with 2 goals and 2 assists while Julia Peterson, Hannah Kolb and Rose Stackhouse found the net.

Glenbard East 2, Bartlett 0: The Hawks (12-4-1, 2-1) saw their 7-game win streak snapped at the hands of the Rams in Upstate Eight Valley action. Teagan Noesen made 5 saves in goal while Bartlett was shutout for the first time in 2 weeks.

Kaneland 1, Monroe 0 (PKs): Thanks to 2 saves by keeper Emily Chapman in the PK round, Becca Richtman's shootout-winning goal provided the Knights (11-3-1) a 4-3 edge over host Monroe (WI) to take invite championship.

Dundee-Crown 2, Woodstock 2: Alyssa Moreno and Taylor Coffman each had goals in this Fox Valley Conference crossover tie. Sam Christensen and Anna Kieltyka each had 1 assist for the Chargers (4-6-1) while Taylor Gonio amounted 6 saves in net.

Streamwood wins St. Edward Invite: At the St. Edward Invite, Streamwood (6-8) took home first place with 2 wins, the first coming in the form of Karina Nevarez's 2 goals and 1 assist in a 4-0 win against the host Green Wave. Melanie Ramirez also posted 2 goals while Shonali Pierce, Christina Corona and Paulette Carranza each had assists. Carranza and Alondra Blanco each had goals in a 2-0 win over Harvest Christian while Corona and Michaela Gundesen tallied assists.

Westminster Christian 3, Harvest Christian 0: Ella Gustafson, Lexi Kuhlman and Mel Izquierdo all scored goals in a win over the Lions, which clinched second place at the Green Wave Invite. Mattea Huerta had 2 assists while Emily Lamp (2 saves) and Elise VanNoord (1 save) shared time in goal. Earlier, Westminster and St. Edward ended in a 2-2 tie as Huerta and Gianna Mackintosh scored goals. Gustafson had 1 assist and Lamp provided 5 saves.

Rosary 1, ACC 0: Chargers (7-10) goalie Alex Montalbano had 19 saves in a nonconference loss to the Royals.
