Smylie struck out 1 and walked 1 and his teammates played errorless baseball behind him.
Joe Rizzo had 2 hits for the Red Raiders (11-7, 4-3) and Brad Model drove in 2 runs.
Adam Kale had a double and an RBI for Jacobs (12-4, 5-1). Brenden Heiss took the loss on the mound, allowing 4 hits and only 1 earned run in 4⅓ innings.
Grayslake North 5, Hampshire 2: In an FVC Fox contest, Carter Lawler had 2 hits for Hampshire (9-9, 3-6). Bryan Diete suffered the loss in relief.
Kaneland 5, Wheaton Academy 0: Noah Jones tossed a 3-hitter with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk to lead the Knights (5-6) to a nonconference win. Joe Laudont and Matt Rosko each had 3 hits for Kaneland and Josh Pollastrini 2 RBI.
Timothy Christian 5, ACC 2: Jimmy Laurenti and Jake Smith (2 hits) each had doubles for Aurora Central (11-6) in nonconference action. Mario Magana was the losing pitcher despite now allowing an earned run in 5 innings.
Harvest Christian 10, Schaumburg Christian 3: Grant Young (2 hits, 3B, RBI), Dominik Olech (2 hits, 2B, RBI), Drew Lewis (3 hits, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI) and Dayne Frederick (2 hits, 2B) led Harvest Christian to a nonconference win. Zach Pawelek was the winning pitcher for the Lions (10-8), allowing 6 hits with 12 strikeouts and 4 walks.
