Unwanted drugs collected Round Lake Park

Round Lake Park Police Chief George Filenko says he considers a prescription drug collection event held April 16 to have been a success. The effort, which was co-hosted by the Grayslake Fire Protection District, targeted the Saddlebrook Farms senior community near Peterson Road and Route 60/83 in Round Lake Park. Filenko said an estimated 200 pounds of prescription drugs were collected. He said pharmaceutical students from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago helped police and firefighters collect the prescription medicine. About 150 Saddlebrook Farms residents attended the event at the fire protection district station on Peterson Road at the subdivision entrance.
