District 212 announces FBLA State Leadership Conference Competition Results

District 212 is proud to announce the results from the FBLA state conference that was held on Saturday, April 1 at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.

Leyden has five students who qualified to compete at the FBLA national conference to be held June 29 -July 2 in Atlanta, Georgia. The students are Nicholas Ippolito, Kelly Vasquez, Piotr Galusza, Wayllon Lu and Jordan Campbell.

The following FBLA members are those who finished in the top ten of their respective competitive events.

West Leyden

Nicholas Ippolito, 4th in Networking Concepts

Judith Escamilla, 6th in Community Service Project

Kelly Vasquez, 3rd in Economics

Ismael Ruiz, 9th in Introduction to Information Technology

East Leyden

Piotr Galusza, 1st in Desktop Application Programming

Amal "Emmy" Sharaan, 7th in Personal Finance

David Senk, 9th in Economics

Wayllon Lu and Jordan Campbell, 1st in Banking and Finance

Georgia Thomas and Kailey Kilraine, 6th in Hospitality Management

More than 1400 members from 71 FBLA chapters from across Illinois were in attendance. The conference included activities in personal development, business and leadership training, election of 2016-2017 state officers, and competitive events.
