Children at Libertyville Cooperative Nursery School explore the arts

More than 100 children are experiencing the arts this week at the Libertyville Cooperative Nursery School.

Representatives from area businesses are presenting workshops for the students during the school's Week of the Young Child program.

The in-school field trips include sessions with Artist @ Heart, Improv Playhouse, Dancenter North, Dance Academy of Libertyville, David Adler Cultural Center and Camp Kind.

The school's director, Adrienne Johnson, said the program is designed to honor the children, their learning and the experiences they can have in the community.

"We're celebrating 70 years of being in the community, and we're fortunate enough to partner with different organizations in the community that have different programs for young children," Johnson said.
