Democratic leaders know budget is irresponsible
Every responsible individual with a household budget knows that bills need to be paid on time and in full if possible in order to remain solvent and not incur further debt by accruing the accompanying percentage fees for late or non-payment.
Surely Madigan and Cullerton would not run their homes or businesses this way; yet, for years they have knowingly been the architects of the current financial situation in the state of Illinois.
Each year of their reign, it has been getting cumulatively worse with devastating consequences to the population they were elected to serve and protect, especially those with special needs.
Though Madigan would have us think that Rauner is responsible for the budget shortfall, I credit Rauner for trying to bring sanity to effect a positive change in Illinois and begin digging us out of the hole created by Madigan and Cullerton.
I do not know who owes whom what in order for Madigan and Cullerton to continue controlling the state, but it is disgraceful that Madigan will not even meet with Rauner. Perhaps Madigan has enough clout behind him that he does not even need to pretend that he cares about the actual condition of the state of Illinois.
