Baseball: Geneva, Cary-Grove record blowout wins

Geneva 10, Streamwood 0: The Vikings had 14 hits in the 6-inning win led by Dylan Baer (3 hits, 2 RBI), Jeremy Davis (3-for-3, 3 runs, 3 RBI), Justin Hasegawa (2-for-2, run, RBI), Jack Olson (2 RBI) and Vincent MacDonald (2-for-4, 2 runs).

Bryan Callaly allowed 2 hits and 1 walk in 5 innings, striking out 6 to pick up the victory.

Adam Sojda pitched the first 4 innings and took the loss for the Sabres. Jose Aguilar, Ryan Fitzgerald and Jake Painter had hits.

Cary-Grove 10, Barrington 0: Cary-Grove scored 7 runs in the second inning, then 2 in the bottom of the fifth to end its victory over Barrington on Thursday.

Tom Neilson threw all 5 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 walks. Tyler Pennington led the offense with a triple and 2 RBI, Nick Kirk went 2-for-2 with 2 runs, and Matt McCumber and Ben Baruth also scored 2 runs each.

Hoffman Estates 14, Dundee-Crown 6: Erik Hedmark had 2 hits including a double, and Andrew Zimmer, Danny Denz and Greg Williams also doubled for the Chargers.
