Dundee author to review library's 140-year history

Turn back the pages of time with the Fox River Valley Public Library District at 7 p.m. Monday, April 11 with a program titled "Our Library's 140 Journey: An Historical Review with Phil Aleo."

Local historian and author Aleo will turn back the pages of time with a special program he developed just for the library. Watch the story unfold with photos and historical documents from not only the library, but the surrounding communities.

Another local old-timer, the Anvil Club, will be serving "mocktails." Library director Roxane Bennett will deliver closing comments and a glimpse into the future of the district.

The program, held at the Dundee Library, 555 Barrington Ave. in East Dundee, is scheduled to coincide with National Library Week, April 10-16. Register online at www.frvpld.info, in person, or by calling (847) 428-3661, press 3.

The Fox River Public Library District serves 70,000 residents of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Gilberts, and parts of Algonquin.
