Hoffman Estates, DEA host drug take-back event April 30

The Hoffman Estates Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will host a drug take-back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the police station, 411 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates.

The event is an opportunity for the public to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous drugs. Last September, Americans turned in 350 tons of prescription drugs at more than 5,000 sites operated by the DEA and more than 3,800 of its state and local law enforcement partners.

The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
