Hanover Township Paint-A-Thon applications now being accepted

The annual Community Paint-A-Thon is scheduled for late September of 2016. Applications are now available for this fall community service project. The program provides the painting of exterior single family homes at no cost to those who meet the criteria.

To qualify, homes must be owned and occupied by people with limited financial resources and the owners must be at least 60 years of age, a veteran, or have a permanent disability that hinders them from doing the work themselves. Homes that have peeling, fading or worn paint, should consider applying. Once a home is determined eligible, volunteer teams are matched to do the scraping, priming and painting of the house.

If you or someone you know needs their home painted, applications can be found online at www.hanover-township.org or a hard copy can be picked up from any township office. Applications are due by May 1.

The Paint-A-Thon is a communitywide event where teams of volunteers are recruited from businesses, churches, social and civic groups. For questions or more information on the Community Paint-A-Thon, call (630) 483-5660.
