Masked robber hits Elgin bank

Elgin police and the FBI are searching for a man who robbed a Fifth Third Bank Saturday morning.

Customers and employees were not harmed when the man entered the bank at 1645 Larkin Ave. after 9 a.m.

The robber, who had a mask covering the lower portion of his face, indicated he had a weapon and demanded cash. Witnesses said he never displayed a weapon.

The man fled on foot and is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-6-inches tall and of slim build, weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie and grey sweatpants with a red shirt under the hoodie, a blue and white baseball cap, sunglasses and white fabric gloves.
