Thomas wins Kane County District 4 Democratic race

Angie Clay Thomas of Aurora won the Democratic primary for Kane County Board District 4.

Thomas had 1,487 votes to incumbent Brian Pollock's 1,268, according to unofficial results.

Thomas had accused Pollock, of Aurora, of not being active in the Aurora Township Democratic Party organization. The group endorsed her, and criticized Pollock by saying he was too close to Republican county board chairman Chris Lauzen, who had endorsed Pollock in 2012.

Thomas' husband, Juan Thomas, is chairman of the Aurora Township group. Pollock had the backing of prominent Aurora-area Democrats, including state Rep. Linda Chapa La Via and state Sen. Linda Holmes.

Nobody ran in the Republican primary.
