'Rib cutting' held for new Rosemont BBQ joint, country bar
Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens joined operators of the new Bub City/Joe's Live Thursday night for a ceremonial "rib cutting" at the combined barbecue joint/country music venue.
The 34,000-square-foot space - one-third Bub City and two-thirds Joe's Live - is a joint venture of Lettuce Entertain You and owners of Joe's Bar on Weed Street in Chicago.
Country music singer Frankie Ballard performed on opening night at Joe's Live, and a private reception was held for family and friends at Bub City, which opens to the public for dinner next Wednesday.
The new venue, located in Rosemont's entertainment district, replaces Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill, which was evicted by the village for failing to pay rent and taxes.
