District 73 students raise $13,000 for heart health

Students at Townline Elementary School and Hawthorn School of Dual Language in Vernon Hills pledged more than $13,000 online for the American Heart Association in a Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser. That amount was expected to grow once all checks and cash were counted.

Jump Rope For Heart is a national fundraising event sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. These events engage students with jumping rope while empowering them to improve their own health and help other students with heart-health issues.
