Rauner strategy is only hurting
Pre-Rauner, the government of Illinois was corrupt and dysfunctional. People were not represented and rarely were their needs considered.
King Madigan, and his court have spent taxpayer collections for self promotion and re-election. The people of Illinois wanted ANY change from the dysfunctional Gov. Quinn.
Gov. Rauner promised change. The "turnaround" is to joust with King Madigan and levy sanctions on the people of Illinois. The governor demands his agenda be accepted by his political foes or he will squeeze the people of Illinois, the people he represents.
Funding is drying up for the neediest of families. The afflicted and the dangerous lose services. Medical professionals are not being reimbursed.
Has the agenda penetrated the King's shield? Withhold money from municipalities so they can cut services to citizens. Cut funds to state universities so they can no longer operate. Eliminate tuition grants so students can't pay tuition.
Are the knaves of Illinois punished enough? Eliminate collective bargaining. Each individual bargains for their own compensation and workplace justice. Some (admittedly not all) workplace accidents are accidents - not in the new kingdom.
Get hurt, can't work; you're fired. Twelve million strong Illinoisans still won't buckle!
Having a King the people felt no representation. Having a new governor, the people feel they have no value.
