Brisbane lead by 1 in A-League after drawing with Newcastle

BRISBANE, Australia (AP) - Brisbane moved a point clear into first place in the A-League after veteran defender Jade North's second-half goal allowed the Roar to draw with the Newcastle Jets 2-2 on Friday.

Jamie Maclaren gave the Roar an early lead, but Mitch Cooper and Milos Trifunovic put the Jets ahead 2-1 inside 20 minutes before halftime.

Second-place Western Sydney will have a chance to move back into first place when the Wanderers play Wellington on Sunday to conclude the 19th round.
