N. Aurora police warn of possible attempt to lure child

North Aurora police responded to a possible attempt of child luring just before 4 p.m. Tuesday near Dee Road and Linn Court, according to an advisory from the police department.

A 10-year-old boy was walking near the intersection when someone wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and shoes with red or pink on them said, "Come here," according to police.

The boy said "No" and ran home. He could not tell the person's gender or race.

The person who yelled to the boy made no attempt to follow or grab him, police said.

North Aurora police say they issued the advisory "out of an abundance of caution even though it is possible there was no criminal intent."
