Your library an asset when searching for a job

Are you a secretary or accountant, when you'd rather be a forest ranger? Are you looking for the "great job" that was supposed to land in your lap after college? Maybe you are in your 40s or 50s and just got "let go" by a company that closed or downsized. Or in high school, trying to save for college. These are just a few of the countless scenarios that could lead you to the Schaumburg Township District Library's multitude of job and career resources.

In February, those resources even include a Teen Job Fair from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27. During this annual event, teens and young adults ages 15-19 will have the opportunity to pick up job applications from potential employers, receive resume assistance and interview guidance, and meet representatives from organizations seeking volunteers. There is no fee or registration for this event. Attendees are welcome to come by anytime during the Teen Job Fair hours.

For adults, there is a plethora of free job search and career-related programs throughout February and March.

Anyone who wants to learn about networking online is invited to "Starting Your LinkedIn Profile" from 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 8, in the Adult Classroom.
