Duke adds DL coach from BC, shifts Collins into admin role

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Duke has added Boston College assistant Ben Albert to its defensive coaching staff and shifted Jim Collins into an administrative role.

Coach David Cutcliffe announced the staff moves Friday.

Collins will be the Blue Devils' director of football relations and special assistant to the head coach. His three stints on the coaching staff covered a total of 14 years. He previously worked with Steve Sloan and Steve Spurrier in the 1980s.

Albert will coach the defensive line after spending the last three seasons in charge of that position at BC, which led the nation in total defense last season.

He's also coached at Temple, Massachuetts, Rutgers and Richmond, and with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
