Multi-ethnic not same as multi-cultural

The push of multiculturalism is a terrible feel-good initiative sought by the universities. America as the melting pot that it is, is actually multi-ethnic.

Cultures have values, ethnicity does not. Ethnicity is simply ancestral background. A nation like ours, can have and celebrate people of different backgrounds living together as one. But a nation like ours cannot celebrate or have multiple cultures. A common culture is what brings us together.

Immigrants are not supposed to hold on tightly to their relatives' past. They are supposed to assimilate, not separate from Americans.

Would you not agree that if you decided to live in a foreign country, you would learn their customs, holidays, and language? You would not expect them to make sure they change their customs for your comfort.

Remember our motto, "E Pluribus, Unum." Latin, for, "out of many, one."

Out of many nations and backgrounds, we are one people, Americans.
