Knife, stun gun found on 15-year old after scuffle at Stevenson High School
Two Stevenson High School students are facing charges involving a scuffle after which a stun gun and a knife were found on one of them.
Lincolnshire police said they were called to the high school just before noon on Thursday on a report of a disturbance. According to Sgt. Kimberly Covelli, two 15-year-old males were involved but there was no activity when police arrived.
"One boy hit another boy," she said. The situation occurred in a classroom. A stun gun and a knife was found on one of the boys, she said, but he was not the aggressor in the fight.
The boy who did the hitting was charged with disorderly conduct, according to Covelli, and the other boy was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. She said the charges were referred to juvenile authorities, who will make a determination on how to proceed. Both juveniles were processed and released to their parents. This is the second report in two months at the school in which police were called and a potential weapon found. In early January, a 17-year-old Lamont Glenn of Buffalo Grove, pleaded not guilty to charges he brought an unloaded handgun to school in December.
School officials declined to comment Saturday.
