Geneva library to present 'Fed Up' documentary, discussion

View the 2014 documentary "Fed Up," about the obstacles people have when trying to lose weight and eat healthier and how sugar plays a big role from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Geneva Public Library, 127 James St.

More than 30 years ago the U.S. government issued its first ever dietary guidelines and with it one of the greatest health epidemics of our time ensued. In her documentary feature debut, executive producer and narrator Katie Couric joins Laurie David ("An Inconvenient Truth"), Regina Scully ("The Invisible War") and Stephanie Soechtig ("Tapped") to explore why, despite media attention and government policies to combat childhood obesity, generations of kids will now live shorter lives than their parents. Afterward, stick around for the discussion and healthy snacks! It is co-sponsored by Ginsberg Chiropractic, Geneva Fit Gym, and Dick Pond Athletic Store.
