Free tax assistance for Lake County residents
Beginning Feb. 1 and continuing through April 9, Moraine Township will offer free assistance to low- and moderate-income taxpayers in Lake County in filing their 2015 income tax returns through the IRS Voluntary Income Tax Assistance program.
Volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS to prepare basic returns for taxpayers earning less than $54,000. Appointments are required and will take place at the Moraine Township Office, 777 Central Ave., Highland Park.
