Larkin, Harvest Christian win Elgin City Classic openers

Larkin 62, Westminster Christian 47: In the opening round of the Elgin City Classic, Marlee Kyles scored 16 points and Haley Bohne added 15 to lead Larkin (7-12) to the win. Maddie Versluys had 32 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals for Westminster (7-11) while Emily Lamp added 11 points and Hannah Haecker had 7 rebounds.

Harvest Christian 71, Elgin 58: Also at the Elgin City Classic, Paulina Castro had 22 points, Alyssa Iverson 16 and Katie Kaldenberger 14 to lead the Lions (13-6) to the win. Alisha Panthier led Elgin (1-16) with 20 points while Tianna Stewart added 14 and Raechel Untalan had 12.

Aurora Christian 61, Rockford Christian Life 23: Kirsten Madsen had 20 points including three 3-pointers and Aurora Christian had 11 3s as a team to win this Northeastern Athletic Conference game. Carey Tokars and Sami Hultine added 9 points each for the Eagles (9-8, 4-0).

ACC 48, Chicago Christian 27: Taylor Harazin had 10 points to lead Aurora Central Catholic (13-7) to the Metro Suburban crossover win.

St. Edward 55, Guerin 21: Madelyn Spagnola scored 12 points and Mariel Franco added 10 to lead St. Edward (9-8) to a Metro Suburban crossover win. Yssa Sto. Domingo (9 points, 5 steals), Mallory Rejman (8 points) and Brittany Mauritzen (5 assists) also contributed for the Green Wave.
