If capitalists cared, they'd help climate

A Herald contributor a few days ago stated that the Paris meetings were about eliminating capitalism. Americans and friends, if the giant corporations on this planet don't take serious steps to protect our environment, their own lack of action will eliminate capitalism and much of the life here.

There won't be enough life left to justify and support these giants. If these corporations were interested in keeping healthy living going on Mother Earth, they would be finding new ways to economically create energy.

I have just heard, recently, that in Beijing, China, several thousand die weekly from lung disease caused by the filth in the air. I have also read that diesel smoke and carbon monoxide are detrimental to good health.

What every average citizen on this planet is dealing with is corporate greed. The big business world doesn't care about anything but the bottom line. If they really cared, they would be doing something about it.
