Five injured in I-94 rollover crash near Lincolnshire
Five people were injured Sunday when an SUV rolled over on Interstate 94 near Lincolnshire, authorities said.
All eastbound lanes were closed immediately after the single-vehicle crash at 2:36 p.m. near Route 22, according to Illinois State Police. Two lanes have since been open, but two remain closed as of 6:25 p.m.
Battalion Chief Ken Koerber of the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District said three passengers, two with critical injuries, were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Two other passengers were taken to Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital, he said.
Koerber said the passengers included at least two adults and some children, though additional details about the passengers were not available.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
