CityGate Grille ushers in the new year with dinner specials this weekend that include a chilled snow crab claw and shrimp cocktail for $16 or a six-ounce grilled prime filet and eight-ounce cold water lobster tail for $64. Another option is the pan-seared Alaskan halibut in a braised leek cream with roasted beet risotto, brussels sprouts and smoked bacon for $35. Finish with a cookies and cream cheesecake with an Oreo crust, warm chocolate sauce with fresh strawberries and whipped cream for $8. CityGate Grille is at 2020 Calamos Ct., Naperville. Happiest hours at McGonigal's Pub

The happiest hours at McGonigal's Pub happen from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Discounted eats include $2.50 Chicago dogs and fries, jumbo dogs and fries or beer brats, $4 nachos and $4.50 boneless wings. Drink specials during that time are: $2.50 well drinks, $4 Guinness 20-ounce drafts, $4 Harp 20-ounce drafts, $4 Smithwick's 20-ounce drafts, and $2 Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light and Miller Lite bottles. Arlen's Chicken expands its menu

Casual fried chicken joint Arlen's Chicken recently added menu items like the crispy chicken wings and a sauce of the month -- beginning in January with a specialty barbecue sauce.
