Trump's answers too simple

Political pundits and most of the GOP are aghast at Donald Trump's latest proclamation, banning Muslims from entering the US.

Many thought this was the tipping point and surely his support would begin a slow but steady slide. When the next round of polls were released just after his comments Trump's lead actually increased.

While Trump's remarkable staying power has many shaking their heads one only needs to consider the words of the great satirist H.L. Mencken; "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong."

Mr. Trump has a knack for tapping into the anger, fear and uncertainty many voters are feeling and then delivering fast and easy answers to complex problems. Unfortunately, the issues facing our nation require much more than simplistic sound bites.
