Property Tax Assessment Appeal Seminar for Schaumburg Township

Hoffman Estates, IL - Everyone in the community is welcome to join Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 6:30 pm at the Schaumburg Township Office, 1 Illinois Road, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169 for a free seminar on the property tax appeal process.

Jillian Rose Bernas, Schaumburg Township Library Trustee will join John Lawson, Schaumburg Township Assessor, Nimish Jani, Schaumburg Township Trustee and Michelle Mussman, State Representative in hosting this event for local area residents concerned about their property tax assessment and interested in learning how to appeal the assessment.

This free seminar will teach attendees how to appeal their property tax assessment and they will be able to fill out and submit appeal forms at the end of the event. There is no fee to appeal at the Board of Review. Taxpayers are asked to bring a copy of their most recent tax bill.

"Residents in our community are busy with families and work, we want to bring this seminar to the area to make the process as convenient as possible." Jillian said. "While speaking with community members it is obvious they are concerned about their rising property taxes. I want to provide them with the tools to appeal their assessment should they feel it does not accurately reflect the value of their property."

Analysts from the Board of Review will be on hand during the seminar to answer any questions residents may have about the process.

Appeal forms may also be picked up at the Board of Review office in Rolling Meadows 2121 Euclid Ave., Room 237, Rolling Meadows, IL 60098 or at the Chicago office 118 N. Clark Street - Room 601 in Chicago. Taxpayers may also file an appeal online by visiting the Board of Review website: www.cookcountyboardofreview.com.
