What actors are saying about 'Scrooge's Christmas'

John Jepson, Scrooge

" 'Scrooge's Christmas' can literally take every member of the audience and almost force them to appreciate the wonderful people in their lives.

One of my favorite aspects of playing Scrooge is that acting is not needed as long as I take the experience of this character and truly let them relate to what's in my (your) heart.

I almost can't help but cry when thinking about Tiny Tim, or even more relevant to me, when I think about what Bob Cratchit must be going through with the idea of his son not living to see another Christmas … it breaks my heart.

It was amazing to see the look on both of my children's faces as they watched me perform in our dress rehearsal. Those faces will last me a lifetime."

John Frankenthal, Fred Scrooge and Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come

"I had never acted or been involved in community theater until I was in my 50s. When the Geneva Park District became involved with Playhouse 38, I was intrigued and auditioned for 'It's a Wonderful Life, a Radio Play' and as others have said, I caught the acting bug.

I have been fortunate enough to be cast in five shows over the past two years at Playhouse 38 and with each performance the characters I portray become more believable. Being part of a cast that can bring a story to life is an amazing feeling, a great way to grow personally, and an opportunity to make good friends."
