Around 100 kids were treated to a shopping spree Tuesday during the Lake County Sheriff's Association 4th Annual Shop with a Sheriff at the Mundelein Target.

Students who met a specific financial need from Fremont School District 79 and Diamond Lake School District 76 were allotted $100 and shopped alongside law enforcement officers. The event was also open to a number of students from neighboring school districts.

The event, solely funded by donations, started at Fremont Intermediate School in Mundelein with food, games and entertainment. Officers shuttled the kids to Target for shopping.

Sponsors of the event included the Lake County Sheriff's Association, Fremont Intermediate School, Target, Pepsi Beverages Company, Philly G's of Vernon Hills, Lukes of Mundelein and Ameritex Custom Sportswear.
