Schaumburg library accepting food for fines
The annual holiday "Food for Fines" program will be ongoing at the Schaumburg Township District Library and its Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park branches until Dec. 31.
Library users are welcome to pay their fines by bringing in canned or boxed nonperishable food items.
Each item will take off 50 cents from library fines, with a limit of 10 items per visit. Expired food will not be accepted.
The donated food will be given to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry. Food donations will not be accepted for lost or damaged items or collection agency fines.
