Man pleads guilty to dumping body at nature preserve

GREENFIELD, Ind. (AP) - An Indianapolis man won't spend more time behind bars after pleading guilty to dumping his girlfriend's body at a nature preserve following her death from a heroin overdose.

Sixty-one-year-old Billy Paschal entered the guilty plea Tuesday during a Hancock County court hearing. Paschal had been jailed since he was arrested Sept. 3, the day the body of 61-year-old Theodosia Regina Queen was found at Jacob Schramm Nature Preserve near New Palestine.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Marie Castetter tells the (Greenfield) Daily Reporter (http://bit.ly/1NcRpDx ) that toxicology tests supported Paschal's account that Queen died in the backseat of his car at the Indianapolis motel where they lived. Paschal said he feared police would blame him for the death.

Castetter says Paschal will also spend the next year on probation.
