No. 20 Northwestern women roll to 72-36 win over Idaho State

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) - Nia Coffee scored 16 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead No. 20 Northwestern to a 72-36 win over Idaho State on Thursday night.

Maggie Lyon and Ashley Deary backed Coffee's 23rd career double-double with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Deary had seven assists and seven steals.

The Wildcats (2-0) were never challenged, racing to a 20-5 lead over the Bengals (1-1) after one quarter.

Deary hit a 3-pointer to start a 15-0 run that Coffee ended for an 18-3 lead. Northwestern led 34-16 at the half, led by Lyons' 11 points, and 50-25 after three quarters.

Idaho State shot 27 percent, making just 1 of 15 shots from behind the arc, committed 23 turnovers and was out-rebounded 53-37.

Anna Policicchio and Apiphany Woods each had eight points for the Bengals.
