The Lake County state's attorney's office has frozen the personal and financial bank accounts of Melodie Gliniewicz, the wife of disgraced former Fox Lake police Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz who killed himself in September amid an embezzlement scam, her lawyers said in a news release Tuesday. Melodie Gliniewicz's lawyers also released legal documents containing several details at the heart of the ongoing financial investigation. Full story.

Someone kills up to 250,000 bees used for honey in Lincolnshire

Police don't have any evidence in a “bizarre” case in Lincolnshire where someone killed up to 250,000 bees in the Marriott Lincolnshire's apiary. The bees were discovered dead Nov. 4, and three cans of Raid wasp and hornet spray were found near the scene, but thrown away before the police report was filed. Full story.

Beach Park man charged again with possession of child porn

A registered sex offender from Beach Park was charged with possession of child pornography for the second time since 2010, Lake County State's Attorney Mike Nerheim said in a news release Tuesday. Allen Ayen, 67, was charged with three counts of possessing child pornography and is being held in the Lake County jail while he awaits his preliminary hearing. Full story.

Arlington Hts. still deciding on frequency of trash collection

The Arlington Heights village board Monday decided to keep Groot Industries as its garbage collector, but they haven't yet decided if garbage pickup will happen once or twice a week. Once they decide on the frequency of pickup, they can approve the final deal which also includes Groot nearly tripling the number of recycling cans downtown. Full story.

Blackhawks excited for 'circus trip'
