Hanover Township hosts free movie, lunch for vets Nov. 4

Veterans are invited to join Hanover Township's Office of Community and Veterans Affairs for lunch and a showing of the movie "Lone Survivor," at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in the township's newly renovated Izaak Walton Center, 899 Jay St. in Elgin.

Based on a true story that took place in Afghanistan in 2005, the 2013 film follows Navy SEALs Marcus Luttrell, Michael Murphy, Danny Dietz and Matthew "Axe" Axelson while deployed on a mission to take out Taliban leader Ahmad Shah.

A free lunch will be provided by the Star N Stripes Cafe. Seating is limited. To RSVP, contact the office at (847) 888-8329. For more information, visit hanover-township.org.
