Rosemont students write 275 Christmas letters to troops
Rosemont Elementary School students wrote some 275 letters to be sent to troops overseas as part of the US99 radio morning show's 10,000 For The Troops campaign.
Morning show co-host Ramblin' Ray Stevens visited the Rosemont school Monday to pick up the homemade Christmas letters and cards and thank students in grades K-8 who made them. He went class to class with Mayor Brad Stephens and Superintendent Kevin Anderson.
"He wanted to say thank you, and we of course wanted to contribute," Anderson said. "It's a teachable moment to send something to veterans to thank them for what they do for us overseas."
To contribute to Stevens' and co-host Lisa Dent's letter-writing campaign, send letters to: 10,000 For The Troops, Attn: Lisa & Ray, 180 N. Stetson Ave., Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60601.
